Advancing neurosciences, transforming lives

The Second NeuroPedia Neuroscience Conference (NNC II), organised by NeuroPedia in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at Mutah University, brings together neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry alongside a dedicated track on artificial intelligence and innovation in medicine. Taking place on 13 November 2026 at Ayass Hotel in Amman, the conference features invited lectures, twelve hands-on workshops, a peer-reviewed research competition and a scientific exhibition, welcoming medical students, interns, residents, specialists and researchers for a day of learning and scientific exchange.

INVITED SPEAKERS

The Program

Eight confirmed speakers across four tracks. We will announce further names as the programme is finalised.

Mohammad
01  —  AI & INNOVATION
MOHAMMAD AL QUDAH
Professor of Microbiology · President
Kingdom University of Medical Sciences
Healthcare Professionals in Leadership

Clinicians are trained to treat patients, not to lead institutions. A reflection on the transition from practice to leadership, and on the skills medical education leaves out.

Amal
02  —  AI & INNOVATION
AMAL ABU LIBDEH
Associate Professor and Consultant Pediatric Neurologist
Jordan University Hospital
The Experience of Studying Abroad as a Pediatric Neurologist

An honest account of training outside Jordan and returning to practice — the applications, the adjustment, what the experience gave, what it cost, and what she would tell a student considering the same path.

Ahmad
03  —  NEUROLOGY
AHMAD YASSIN
Head of Neurology Department
King Abdullah University Hospital
Modern Approach to Management of Drug-Resistant Epilepsy

Roughly a third of patients with epilepsy do not respond to medication. This session sets out when to stop adding drugs, how to identify candidates for surgery, and what the current options genuinely offer.

Firas
04  —  NEUROLOGY
FIRAS AL FAWARIS
Associate Professor of Medical Speech-Language Pathology
Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Latest Updates on Dysphagia and Related Neurological Disorders

Swallowing difficulty is among the most consequential and least examined complications in neurological disease. What has changed in assessment and management, and why is the condition so often identified late?

Mohammad
05  —  PSYCHIATRY
MOHAMMAD AL SMADI
Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Specialist
Private Clinic
The Stigma of Psychiatric Disorders

Stigma determines whether a patient presents at all, what they disclose, and whether they return. Where it originates, how it surfaces inside clinical settings, and what clinicians can realistically change.

Mohammad
06  —  NEUROSURGERY
ALI AYYAD
Consultant Skull Base and Vascular Neurosurgeon
Jordan University Hospital
What Makes a Skilled Neurosurgeon

Technical ability is only part of it. A consultant skull base and vascular neurosurgeon examines what separates a competent operator from a skilled one — judgement, preparation, knowing when not to operate, and the habits formed long before a trainee first scrubs in.

Mouness
07  —  Neurosurgery
MOUNESS OBEIDAT
Head of Oncological Neurosurgery
King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC)
Rare Challenging Cases In Neuro-Oncology Surgery

Rare cases test more than surgical skill. This keynote explores the challenges of neuro-oncology surgery, where diagnostic uncertainty, complex anatomy, and difficult decisions demand sound judgement, careful planning, and the ability to balance maximal tumor resection with preservation of neurological function.
